The research in biotechnology and engineering combines bioengineering and the study of chronic diseases. It focuses on three distinct research directions: modern biomedical technology and engineering, microbial technology and engineering, and biological control technology and engineering. Training Objectives
1.To enhance students' capacity to comprehend, analyse, and solve problems accurately; to foster their sense of responsibility and purpose in exploring the unknown, pursuing truth, and reaching the pinnacle of science; and to inspire their national pride and dedication to serving the country through science and technology.
2. The aim is to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental theories, as well as a deep knowledge of the subject matter and practical skills. It is also important to stay up-to-date with the latest developments and frontiers of the discipline. The ability to independently undertake research projects that are at the forefront of the discipline or have innovative value, using the theories and experimental techniques of the discipline and related fields, is essential. Additionally, one should possess the ability to teach and conduct research independently within the discipline, as well as contribute to the development of the economy. Finally, it is important to have the ability to continuously improve oneself and innovate.
3.The doctoral dissertation should have significant academic value and social significance, and must produce innovative results in a specific research direction within the discipline.
4.They have proficiency in at least one foreign language, enabling them to read professional literature, consult sources, write abstracts, and participate in international academic exchanges.

Years of study
The duration of a doctoral programme is four years, with a minimum of three years and a maximum of six years of study.
Credit Requirements
1.The doctoral programme comprises public courses, degree courses, elective courses, and compulsory sessions, totalling no less than 14 credits. Specifically, there are 4 credits for public courses, 4 credits for compulsory sessions, and 4 credits for degree courses. Elective credits are determined based on the total credits.
2. Professional practice is coordinated by the faculty and the supervisor in conjunction with major projects, which can take various forms such as course experiments, industrial practice, and subject research. Upon completion of the practice, postgraduates must submit a summary report. This report will be counted as 4 credits after the supervisor has passed the assessment. For doctoral degree students of engineering, the minimum duration of professional practice should be at least 6 months if they have practical experience, and at least 1 year if they do not have practical experience.
