Zemin Ren, Ph.D., is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, as well as a Jiangsu Distinguished Professor. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands under the mentorship of Professor Steven T. Pals, a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. He completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford in the UK. From 2012 to 2022, he dedicated his studies and work abroad to research in hematologic cancers and gene editing. He has published numerous high-impact articles in journals such as Blood (IF: 23.6) (2018, 2021), Journal of Hematology & Oncology (IF: 17.3), and PNAS. He has been invited to present at international academic conferences multiple times and is a member of the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy. In January 2022, Professor Ren returned to China to establish a hematologic oncology research team at the Medical School of Jiangnan University. The main research areas of his group include: The interaction between multiple myeloma and the bone marrow microenvironment, and the molecular mechanisms leading to myeloma drug resistance. The pathogenesis of acute myeloid leukemia. Novel gene editing of hematopoietic stem cells and its applications in the development and treatment of hematologic disease models.
