Professor Zhang Hongwei is Vice President and Chief Physician at Wuxi Mingci Cardiovascular Disease Hospital, specializing in comprehensive treatment of digestive tract (esophageal, gastric, and intestinal) tumors. He excels in open and minimally invasive surgeries for esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, and colorectal cancer. Proficient in surgical diagnosis and treatment methods for liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen diseases, as well as breast and thyroid diseases, and common thoracic surgical conditions. In 2001, he pursued specialized training in digestive tract surgery at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Japan, focusing on standardized surgical treatment for digestive tract tumors. In 2010, he furthered his expertise in minimally invasive surgeries for esophageal and gastric cancers at institutions including the National Cancer Center in Tokyo, Japan. Professor Zhang has published over 100 papers, including 55 as the first or corresponding author in international SCI journals, and contributed to 11 published monographs. He has been awarded the Third Prize for Military Scientific and Technological Progress and the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Shaanxi Province.
