Affiliated Wuxi Fifth Hospital of Jiangnan University was established in 1951. It is the earliest, modern,Grade-A tertiary infectious disease specialized hospital in the southern Jiangsu region, and it is the only hospital in the Wuxi area that treats all kinds of infectious diseases. This hospital integrates medical services, teaching, research, prevention, rehabilitation, and healthcare. It also serves as the Clinical Base for Traditional Chinese Medicine Infectious Diseases under the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Additionally, it is a national-level comprehensive (specialized) hospital as a demonstration base for Traditional Chinese Medicine. It totally has 550 beds.The hospital is equipped with 33 clinical medical and technical departments, covering internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, infectious diseases and so on. The Infectious Disease Department and the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Liver Disease Department are designated as provincial key specialties.
