Professor Sun Xiulan has dedicated her career to research and teaching in the field of food safety, with a particular focus on innovative achievements in the detection and control of mycotoxins in grain processing. She has led over 20 research projects including sub-projects of the national "863" and "973" programs, as well as projects under the Ministry of Science and Technology support plan. Her work has resulted in the publication of more than 180 papers in authoritative journals, and she holds 40 Chinese patents and 2 international patents. Professor Sun has also contributed to the formulation of 7 national industry standards, of which 4 have been implemented, and one international standard. Her achievements have been recognized with 5 provincial and ministerial-level awards from associations including the Jiangsu Provincial Government, Ministry of Education, and China Light Industry Federation for technological inventions and scientific advancements. She has authored 4 textbooks on food safety, which have been recognized as key books for China's "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" and key planning textbooks. Professor Sun teaches courses such as "Microbiology and Food Safety," which was awarded the first batch of Jiangsu Provincial Exemplary Courses on Ideological and Political Education, and "Food Safety Science," which received the first batch of Jiangsu Provincial First-Class Courses. Additionally, Professor Sun serves as a member of the Food Safety National Standards Review Committee, the Food Safety Expert Committee for the Winter Olympics, the Genetically Modified Organisms Safety Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture, and as an expert on the implementation plan and guidelines for the Ministry of Science and Technology's "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" for food safety research. |
